America Éire is Irish America 250’s nationwide grassroots storytelling project that honors the profound role and enduring legacy of Irish American communities in shaping the nation from its earliest days, while celebrating the ongoing deep and abiding bonds that connect America and Ireland today. Ours is a story that continues to evolve.
We are honored to share a message from Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States, on the Irish story in America and why yours belongs in the record.

Irish men and women participated in your earliest history and were architects of the ideals that would define the USA: unity, resilience, loyalty, and hope,” the Ambassador said. “Ours is a story that continues to evolve, shaped by new generations, confident in their identity, proud of their heritage, and connected to our land in a new and exciting way. I’m delighted to share my Irish story, and I strongly encourage you to share yours.”
